Rosa Parks always gets a mention in Black History Month lesson plans: The middle-aged Black woman with tired feet who refused to give up her seat on a segregated public bus and launched the successful Montgomery bus boycott. That’s how the story’s often told. But Jeanne Theoharis doesn’t believe it does the real Rosa Parks Justice. The Brooklyn College political science professor just released a young reader’s adaptation of her book, “The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks.”
